The David P. Galbraith Model Exhibit

Over the course of his life, David P. Galbraith Handmade over 1,000 models of aircraft, ships, and land vehicles. It is the largest aviation model collection on display to the public made by an individual in Oregon. The aviation collection spans from the Wright Flyer to the modern era. The vast majority of the aircraft were made at 1:72 scale, while the commercial liners in the collection were made at 1:144 scale.

  • The Collection is Dedicated to David’s uncle, William Galbraith and William’s friend, Dexter Shultz.

    Navy Lieutenant William Galbraith flew patrols and search and rescue operations in an OS2U Kingfisher in the Pacific theater during World War II. He served as the eyes for his fleet and as a guardian angel for the men who were shot down.

    Army Air Corps Lieutenant Dexter Shultz flew his B-24 with the 484th bomb group. He flew an unbelievable 27 missions, making it home every single time. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
